The Seafood Safety Task Force will convene to approve previous meeting minutes, receive updates on LDAF inspection numbers and lab test results, and hear from LDH on inspection data. Seafood Task Force meets to discuss 2025 budget, marketing, and genetic testing

The Louisiana Seafood Safety Task Force is meeting to hear remarks from the Lt. Governor and Ag Commissioner, nominate a chairperson, and review recent laws affecting the seafood industry. Members will also discuss financial allocations, seafood testing and label inspections, genetic testing of seafood, and a marketing proposal with budget recommendations for 2025. Public comment will be taken before scheduling the next meeting.

The Task Force announced the implementation of new seafood labeling rules and elected a new chairman. Members discussed shrimp authenticity testing and allocated $131,000 for seafood testing. The group agreed to meet quarterly.
