Laramie County Commissioners to elect 2025 leadership and hold building code hearing

The Board of County Commissioners will elect a new Chairman and Vice Chairman for 2025. The body is also considering several event contracts, liquor permits, and a joint agreement with the City of Cheyenne to create a Human Services Advisory Council.

The Board approved three resolutions allowing Cowboy Racing, LLC to conduct parimutuel wagering at 1720 Cleveland Ave, 1734 Meadowland Dr, and 714 W 20th St in Cheyenne, despite public opposition to the Cleveland Ave site. The board also approved the consent agenda, including agreements for AEDs, leases, and event permits, and adopted the 2024 International Building Codes. A zone change and subdivision plat were approved, and the board elected Gunnar Malm as Chairman and Troy Thompson as Vice Chairman for 2025.
