PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Attorney Studenmund explained to Council Member why the Resolution presented before Council must be a renewal and not a replacement levy. Approximately one year ago, the State of Ohio banished replacements. This is considered new money and therefore a new levy. Councilman Bacin asked when does the current Park levy expire. Attorney Studenmund replied Council must pass the levy by the end of 2027 and go forward with in 2028 with the renewal request. Discussion was held regarding pros and cons of sitting on the levy request for another year then pushing forward with a replacement levy and not a renewal in 2027. Discussion was held whether school levies simultaneously on the ballot would hinder the Village’s request of Park Levy. Discussion was held regarding private donations for the village parks.
