City of Dyer Special Meeting April 7, 2026 The meeting was called to order at 630 pm by Mayor Lynn Hubbard. The pledge of allegiance was said. Roll Call: Alderman Joseph Saunders present Alderman Eric Bixby present Alderman Michael Scantlin present Alderman Stacey Gunn absent Alderman Aaron Bray absent Alderman Robert Childers absent The server is at end of life in January 2027, and the options given to us by K & S computing are as follows. Replace the server on premises ata cost of 20,000-30,000 and due to the current volatility in pricing and availability they felt that it was important to decide on our options sooner than later. This maintains our current performance and reliability and does not depend on internet connectivity for internal operations. Option 2 migrate the server to the cloud at an estimated cost of $240.00 per month hosting excluding PD archive data and a $4000.00 one-time migration cost. The internet upgrade could be an additional $100-150 per month cost. : PD archive data: if data is static K & S can retain it at no charge. If ongoing access is required, we could repurpose existing hardware as a local storage device. Alternative consideration is to eliminate the server entirely. Whichis nota practical option for our city. It would require significant changes to how the - _—— systems operate, including key applications such as CSA and redesigning workflows.
