TUESDAY, JUNE 9th, 2026
The City of McCausland, Iowa met in open session in person at the City Chambers. Mayor, William Gillispie, called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm. Roll Call: Present- Mizaur, Tague, Claussen & Shipman. Absent- Stewart. The consent was approved on a motion by Shipman, seconded by Claussen, all present signaled aye, motion carried. Consent Agenda: Approval of Agenda, May 12th, 2026, Minutes, Approval of renewal of the Corner Market Tobacco & Cigarette License, Claims Report and Treasurer’s Report.
The council heard reports from the Mayor, Staff and each Department.
Business: 1. Community Concession Stand Clean Up Day scheduled for September 19th, 2026. 2. Scott County Emergency Plan Discussion and Presentation is scheduled for August 18th, 2026 to take place at the Civic Center at 6:00pm. 3. One Technology Quote was reviewed for further action to take place next meeting for the SCRA Technology Grant, Shipman moved to move forward with the purchase of a laptop. The motion was seconded by Tague, all present signaled aye, motion carried 4. Easement Access Request by Resident Discussion. 5. Claussen moved to read Resolution 2026-08 Implementing Bereavement Policy for Full Time Employees. The motion was seconded by Mizaur, all present signaled aye, motion carried.

TUESDAY, MAY 12th, 2026
The City of McCausland, Iowa met in open session in person at the City Chambers. Mayor, William Gillispie, called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm. Roll Call: Present- Stewart, Tague, Claussen & Shipman. Absent- Mizaur. The consent was approved on a motion by Stewart, seconded by Tague, all present signaled aye, motion carried. Consent Agenda: Approval of Agenda, April 14th, 2026, Minutes, Claims Report and Treasurer’s Report.
The council heard reports from the Mayor, Staff and each Department.
Business: 1. Shipman moved to read the LL Pelling proposal for sealant work on Cody Road. The motion was seconded by Claussen, all present signaled aye, the motion carried. 2. The Council discussed two donations to the city- a tree being planted and a bench being placed. 3. Stewart moved to set the Labor Day Food Truck Vendor Fee at $75 for Labor Day Weekend. The motion was seconded by Shipman, all present signaled aye, motion carried. 4. 28E Agreement with the McCausland Fire Department Discussion. 5. Shipman moved to read Edmunds Parks and Rec add on module. The motion was seconded by Stewart for the module to be added next fiscal year, all present signaled aye, the motion carried. 6. Shipman moved to read a motion for a $200 deposit needed to book the Tractor Pull event for Labor Day 2026. The motion was seconded by Claussen, all present signaled aye, motion carried.
