Village of Rossville Regular Board Meeting July 20, 2026 Mayor Black called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m. The meeting was held at the Rossville Municipal Building located at 120 East Attica Street in Rossville, Illinois. Roll call was taken. A quorum was established with Mayor Black and Trustees Gammon, Wallace, Mikel and Layden physically present. Trustees absent – Trustees Ward and Ault Guests present were Clerk White, Deputy Clerk Kathy Rife, Kenneth Gammon, Angela Graveline, Marilyn Danner, Bill Gerard, Rosella Ray, Jessica Mikel and Janice Marie. The pledge of allegiance was recited. Public Comment and Guest Recognition - Mayor Black asked if any of the guests had any comments at this time. Marilyn Danner reported the Steering Committee has met. Ninety names were given to send emails, texts or letters to invite them to informational meetings for the Rossville Road Map. Five meetings have been scheduled for the 5 Wednesdays in September: September 2 (@ HTCC-Hubbard Trail Country Club), 9,16,23, and 30th at the Rossville Fire Protection District Community Room all beginning at 5:30 p.m. for 3- hour meetings. Food will be provided. The purpose of the Steering Committee is to sell to the community the ideas for improving Rossville and to get people to come to the meetings and engage with ideas and promote interest in the Mapping program. Village of Rossville Special Board Meeting July 14, 2026 5:00 p.m. Mayor Black called the special board meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. at the Rossville Municipal Building, located at 120 East Attica Street in Rossville, Illinois. The special board meeting was called to discuss CD rates for a CD that matured on July 6, 2026. Members physically present – Mayor Black, Trustees Wallace, Layden, Mikel, Ault and Gammon. Members absent – Trustee Ward Guests present – Clerk White and Treasurer Bridget Ault Roll call was taken and a quorum was established. CD rates were received from Longview Bank and Iroquois Federal for the CD that matured on July 6, 2026. Motion was made by Layden, seconded by Mikel to approve purchasing a new CD from Longview Bank for approximately $384,000 at 4.10% APY for 3 months. Vote: Wallace, yes; Gammon, yes; Ault, yes; Layden, yes; Mikel, yes. Motion was made by Gammon, seconded by Mikel to adjourn the meeting. Village of Rossville Special Board Meeting May 4, 2026 5:15 p.m. Mayor Black called the special board meeting to order at 5:15 p.m. at the Rossville Municipal Building, located at 120 East Attica Street in Rossville, Illinois. The special board meeting was called to discuss/approve the FY2027 Salary Ordinance and tree removal at 308 Dale (Community Garden). A 3% across the board increase was proposed for all employees except the SROs, which the school boards will determine the rate of pay for them at a later date and Treasurer Ault’s monthly pay rate was proposed to increase from $150.83 to $222.00 per month. Motion was made by Gammon, seconded by Layden to approve the salary ordinance as proposed. Vote: Layden, yes; Wallace, yes; Gammon, yes; Ault, yes; Ward, yes. Ordinance 2026-05 passed. The Beautification Committee met on April 23, 2026 and authorized the removal of a redbud tree, located at 308 Dale, for the price of $600 by Jonathan Mockbee.
