Amie Poladian, Main Street Manager said that the Springhill Farmers Market Season opened on Saturday,
April 5, 2025 and despite the rain several hundred people turned out for the event. The farmers market will be open
the first Saturday each month from now through October from 9 AM – 1 PM. They are in desperate need of produce
vendors.
The quarterly match grants wrapped up another cycle. The Lucky Pup was awarded the third quarter grant
for their new signage at the old Springhill Library Building. They were able to match the original signage from the

Main Street Manager Amie Poladian reminded everyone about the sign ordinance that was adopted last
year which prohibits the placement of yard signs in the city but particularly in the Main Street District.
Two new awnings in the downtown district have gone up in part thanks to match grants for Masonic Lodge
and David Smith’s building at 204 Main Street. B & S Interests installed a new awning which also helps improve
the downtown district appearance.
Three new businesses are opening next month on Main Street.

New trash cans were obtained by a grant from Keep Louisiana Beautiful written by Alderman Stacey
Willard. They have been installed at various locations throughout the City.

During July 2022, the City of Springhill purchased a GMC Sierra 1500
truck in the amount of $41,875. The city obtained three price quotes but
did not advertise for bids in the newspaper and did not purchase the truck

downtown. Amie thanked all the businesses for decorating and getting into the Christmas Spirit and making
downtown look so wonderful.
