Resolution was made by Steve Hall, seconded by Mark Givens to a special use permit for Molosky Wood &
Boatworks on parcel # 43-14-03-100-043, located on US 31, north of Poplar St, subject to the following binding
conditions (permit issued to Malosky project not property):
1. Scope of Operations: Permitted activities are limited to custom woodworking, boat building, watercraft repair,
marine restoration, storage and finishing work.
2. Outdoor Storage & Screening: All watercraft, equipment, parts, and raw materials awaiting repair, assembly or
for sale must be stored indoors.
3. Nuisance Mitigation: All heavy dust-producing activities (e.g., sanding, sawing) must utilize a properly
maintained interior dust-collection system. Odors from paints, stains, or solvents must be managed via
commercial ventilation to prevent migration past the property line.

The Village Board voted unanimously to continue with the 2026 State Revolving Fund cycle for the public water system project, despite EGLE denying the treatment permit and requiring additional testing. Truth in Taxation Hearing: Mr. Gillett stated that there hasn’t been a tax increase since 1997, which was used to
pave the streets in the Village and also voted on by residents. Mr. Gillett noted that the 2026 tax levy (8.6734 mils)
has decreased from 2024 & 2025. Mr. Gillett stated that if taxes have increased its due to the assessed values that
are determined by the local Tax Accessors who are paid by the various townships.
Q: Craig Geary questioned if Townline Road would ever be paved and shared concerns about dirt bikes,
snowmobiles and side by sides heavily using that road and trespassing on private properties. Mr. Gillett stated that
funds are not available to pave that road and noted that although the Village owns the road none of the houses are
within the Village limits. Mr. Gillett stated that residents should call 9-1-1 with ORV complaints.
Q: Sherri Geary suggested sidewalks for Mill St.

evening historical walking tour through Pellston & a Saturday morning bike ride on the trailway. Discussion took
place regarding planning the annual summer picnic as well with live entertainment.
Mr. Gillett opened the public reading hearing at 7:10pm regarding Ordinance #60 – Municipal Water System. Amy
Hessel questioned the survey results of the interest cards, monthly water rates, who will operate the system & treat
the water, list of approved contractors and the policy regarding nonpayment of water bills as well ability to access

(money in grant) the 8.2 acres where the three municipal wells will be located.
Steve Warrren from OHM reviewed a draft ordinance and water service line acknowledgement & well
abandonment agreement (will be mailed to all property owners) with the Council. Mr. Gillett noted that the
ordinance will require two public readings & a notice published in the Petoskey News Review. Mr. Warren stated
that two public meetings will be held (dates tbd) regarding the water line agreement/well abandonment. Mr.
