ROLL CALL: All council members present APPROVE AGENDA: Motion made to approve agenda by T. Yunk and second by N. Meyer GUESTS: Jordan Schaefer-TLFD, in good shape for where they are at for new recruits. Relief Association, which is the retirement account has approved a $3,500 pension increase. This will not cost the city anything and we won’t need to pay in at all. This will go into effect in 2027.T. Yunk made a motion to approve this pension increase and B. Richardson seconds this. All ayes. Letty Gould, bringing an ordinance to the city’s attention regarding regulating commercial and business uses in residential areas. She is a concerned resident asking the City of Bovey to look at protecting the integrity, safety, and character of our residential neighborhoods. The council took a minute to review the ordinance that she had submitted and will be adding it to the next workshop and it will be discussed. Letty will join us to work on it as well. Another thing that was brought to attention was the houses being built by the HRA. She is very upset that that land was not offered to her or surrounding owners before possibly being sold to HRA. Would help us as a city working with land and zoning, writing letters, etc. He would charge us $220/hour as a fee. It wouldn’t be a monthly fee. The council will discuss this as an option and make a motion at the next meeting. DEPARTMENT HEADS & COMMITTEES: Sheriff, DJ Roberts, Swat will be at a Schuster house for training. Citations given for animal violations, parking and city citations. Engineer, Kory, Palmer bus lift station is having issues getting water going. Casper got some concrete in the main. They will be coming to fix their mistake. Palmer did more hydro seeding and is close to being done. Electric would have to be prepaid before they will come out and hook it out. Tara will cut a check tomorrow for MN Power. Kory left information regarding a grant with IRRRB. Reviewed CIP plans and grants. Fire Board will be inviting Arbo and Trout Lake townships to next meeting to see if there is interest in paying a percent each year to help fund things for the firefighters. They have hired more recruits and had to purchase more turnout gear. Planning & Zoning, meeting was canceled due to weather. Nancilyn and Tara met with Greater MN regarding ordinances. They …

PUBLIC FORUM: Ramona Duarte – Wondering if we are interested in economic development. She doesn’t feel she can approach business opportunities. Regarding Dollar Tree/Dollar General, the council never turned them down. Casey did some back checking, and they chose Cohasset rather than Bovey. Ramona is asking how we get businesses to come in and would like council to work on this. N. Meyer believes the council will need to come together and share this responsibility together. He is trying to get some of his stuff inside rather than outside. Don claims he though some of the property is his, but it belongs to the city. Casey has attempted to reach out to Don with no luck reaching him. Don wants to cooperate with the city and would like someone to come out and show him where the property line is and what he needs to clean. He believes he is Bovey township, council has never heard of the township existing. Online it shows he is within the city limits. This will be helpful to get this cleared up.
