Minutes: One correction was made to the minutes: “...his wife had a photo on display...” was corrected to “...his mother had a photo on display” (A.2). Audrey Turman made a motion to approve the August, 2026, minutes as corrected. Harriett Bradley seconded, and the minutes were approved. Action Items, Public Hearings, Presentations, Staff Briefings, Announcements: A. Day-to-Day Operations Monthly Report: Sharon Chamblee 1. 2. 3. No The Museum received 43 visitors during the last month, some as far away as California, Montana, and Colorado. On April 16, 2027, 15 to 20 people from Livingston, Texas, are scheduled to visit the Museum. They will be staying with an RV group at the Mineola Civic Center. The lamp post globes came in, but one was broken. Sharon contacted the company to replace it. Pictures of Gateway Bowl and the bowling pin marquee were given to the Board members. The bowling pin is currently being cleaned and rewired to light. Tom Scott, the painter who is scheduled to paint the Museum entrance, will be doing the work the last two weeks of October, at which time the Museum will be closed f …

Doris Newman provided copies of the application (See Attachment). Kendal Banks, Interim Executive Pastor, explained that the church often has 10-12 announcements and the current sign does not allow for that many. CITY OF MINEOLA, TEXAS PARKS & OPEN SPACE ADVISORY BOARD Tuesday August 18, 2026 – 5:30 P.M. City Hall Council Chambers Board Minutes Call to Order and Roll Call The meeting was called to order by Chairman David Householder at 5:30pm with the following present: Pat Hamlett - Vice Chair, Vivian Bigham - Secretary, Mathew Brian, Roy Shockey, Dana Smith, Nickey Minyard, Jennifer Henson Others in attendance - Josh Conrad 1. Board Applicant Introduction was presented by Jennifer Henson, She provided information on applicant Josh Conrad. He provided additional information about himself and Roy made a motion to add Josh to the board and Pat seconded the motion. It was agreed by the board to present Josh Conrad's name to the City Council for approval. Lake Fork Fishing Guide Introduction 2. Consider approval of minutes from June 16, 2026: A motion was made by Pat and seconded by Roy to accept the minutes as presented. The motion passed unanimously. 3. New Business: Discuss, Review & Consider Action: a. Nature Preserve Calendar was presented by David, We were provided a list in the meeting 2027 Calendar project with a list of possible options to have things on the calendar months. It was discussed for the new mural that is being painted to go on the cover of the calendar. MINEOLA LANDMARK COMMISSION SPECIAL MEETING AUGUST 13 AT 4:30 P.M. CITY HALL COMPLEX 300 GREENVILLE HWY., MINEOLA, TX 75773 All Landmark Commission members were present. Meeting called to order at 4:31 p.m. MINUTES: The minutes of the regular meeting held on July 9, 2026 were approved with no corrections. ACTION ITEMS, PUBLIC HEARING, PRESENTATION AND STAFF BRIEFING: 1. Hearing on Request for Certificate of Appropriateness from Lesley Holloway Kearney, House of Holloway for Change of Paint Color from Red to Black on Lower Front Wall of Kitchens Hardware & Deli at 119 E. Broad – Jim Phillips opened the hearing at 4:32 p.m. Doris Newman presented the application (See Attachment) and explained that the application was only for the change of paint color on the previously painted wall. The owner wants to change the paint color from red to black. The hearing was closed at 4:34 p.m. 2. Vote on Certificate of Appropriateness for 119 E. Broad for Change of Paint Color – Steve Brooke made a motion stating, “Based on the preceding findings of fact, I move that the Mineola Landmark Commission grant a Certificate of Appropriateness to House of Holloway for the proposed change of paint color on the previously painted wall. The certificate will include changing the paint color from red to black on the bottom and sides of the wall.” Sue Jones seconded the motion and all members approved. 3. Dayna Watkins and Xan Roberts could not attend and gave notice. Approval of Minutes The minutes of the previous meeting dated May28, 2026, were motioned for approval by Steve and seconded by Kim. All board approved. (prior meeting for June and July did not have quorums). Notes were reviewed and discussed for the July 16, 2026 meeting. Action Items, Public Hearings, Staff Briefings, Announcements Texas Historical Commission Site Visit: Discussion of the work plan that was well completed by Doris Newman shows a high occupancy rate for Mineola. We were encouraged to “Brag” and promote our accomplishments more. Other discussions made and to follow up on are window stickers for those that receive grants from Mineola Main Street, sidewalk directions and promotions, banners, trashcans, and following our motto “sidetrack in Mineola”.
