passengers and no helmets riding along K-15 Highway.
Councilmember Gerber spoke about the recent cyberattacks at municipal water and wastewater
plants in Minnesota. Her husband is willing to provide a risk assessment evaluation and will
contact Public Works/Utility Director, Jacob Coy.
PUBLIC COMMENTS: Public Safety Director, Gordon Fell, demonstrated an Informational
Dashboard for the Public Safety Department. With the help of EMS Lieutenant, Araon Palmer,
staff created this useful dashboard to provide information to the Fire, EMS, and Police
Departments. The dashboard displays call logs, city events, weather and radar, department

City Attorney, J.T. Klaus, advised the information provided in the Special meeting minutes was
not correct. Klaus pointed out the difference between a special sales tax and a general sales tax
per Kansas law. A special sales tax lasts for up to 10 years and can be for whatever period you
pick, and a general sales tax lasts indefinitely until it is repealed. It was noted that the correct
information was received.

PUBLIC COMMENTS: Andrea Walker expressed her disappointment in re -addressing the
Director of Tourism Development Position while other issues concerning properties without
occupancy permits were still outstanding. Walker feels the permitting and inspection process
should be restructured.
Nancy Farber Mottola expressed her support for the Director of Tourism Development Position.
