✓ Decided: Planning Commission denies variance for garage at 1300 Wrangell Ave
The Petersburg Borough Planning Commission denied Garrett P. Kravitz's variance request to build an 1,800 sq ft garage 10 feet from the property line at 1300 Wrangell Ave, instead of the required 20-foot setback. The denial was unanimous (5-0) based on findings that no exceptional circumstances existed and the proposed structure would impede neighboring views. The commission also accepted an application from Jay and Julie Anderson for a special use permit for a greenhouse, fence, and planter boxes in the right-of-way on Excel Street, scheduling it for a future hearing.
