Chair Clay called the meeting to order and confirm a quorum.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The Board reviewed the July 22, 2026, meeting minutes. A motion was made and seconded to approve the
minutes as presented. The motion carried.
STAFF REPORT
Parks & Recreation Director June Greene provided the following departmental updates:
Athletics
•
Fall baseball, softball, soccer, T-ball, and flag football practices are underway.
•
Staff will attend the Wake County Special Olympics Committee Meeting on September 16 to explore
opportunities for Unified Sports programming in Rolesville.
Special Events
•
Staff continues preparations for the 9/11 Remembrance Event, which will include a 5K, one-mile
Memorial Walk, and remembrance ceremony.
•
A piece of steel recovered from the World Trade Center will be unveiled and eventually incorporated into
the Veterans Memorial at the new Town Hall.
•
Upcoming events include the September 18 Blood Drive, Movies at Mill Bridge on September 18, and Fall
Fun Fest on November 14.

contributed to the Town's Fire Service Unification Initiative. Family representative
Ellen Holding accepted the resolution. Town Manager Eric Marsh shared personal
remarks about Mr. Holding's mentorship and his pivotal role in bridging
relationships during the fire unification process. Board members offered
condolences and praised Mr. Holding's decades of public service. The resolution was
entered into the official records of the Town.
