the McLeod County Government Center. Commissioners Wright, Schmalz and Dahl were also present.
Commissioner Cacka was tardy due to a city event. County Administrator Sheila Murphy, County Attorney Ryan
Hansch and Administrative & Compliance Coordinator Stephen Wiblemo were also present.

The McLeod County Board of Appeal and Equalization was called to order at 6:11 p.m. by Auditor-Treasurer Connie
M. Kurtzweg at the McLeod County Government Center. Commissioners Dahl, Cacka, Krueger, Schmalz and Wright
were also present, as were County Assessor Sue Schulz, County Attorney Ryan Hansch, County Administrator Sheila
Murphy, and Administrative & Compliance Coordinator Stephen Wiblemo.

At the request of the Auditor-Treasurer, all present recited the Pledge of Allegiance.
BOARD OF APPEAL AND EQUALIZATION OATH
Murphy administered the Board of Appeal and Equalization Oath to members of the Board of Appeal and
Equalization.
Kurtzweg noted that a quorum had been met for the meeting. She cited Minnesota Statute 274.13 and stated that
the purpose of the Board is to provide a fair and objective forum for property owners to appeal their valuation and
classification. The goal of the Board is to address the property owners’ issues efficiently, fairly, and objectively to

JANUARY 6, 2026
1 CALL TO ORDER
The meeting of the McLeod County Board of Commissioners was called to order at 9:00 a.m. by Chair Krueger at
the McLeod County Government Center. Commissioners Cacka, Schmalz, and Wright were also present. County
Attorney Ryan Hansch, County Administrator Sheila Murphy, and Administrative and Compliance Coordinator
Stephen Wiblemo were also present.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
At the request of the Board Chair, all present recited the Pledge of Allegiance.
MOMENT OF SILENCE IN RECOGNITION OF McLEOD COUNTY EMPLOYEES AND OFFICIALS, PAST AND PRESENT,
WHO HAVE PASSED IN 2025
At the request of the Board Chair, all present remained standing after the recital of the Pledge of Allegiance to
observe a moment of silence in recognition of McLeod County employees and officials, past and present, who have
passed in 2025.
2 CONSIDERATION OF AGENDA ITEMS
Wright moved, Schmalz seconded, motion carried unanimously to approve the agenda.
