Planning Commission

The Planning Commission will consider a permit to allow the sale of beer and wine for off-site consumption at an existing convenience store. The application also includes requests for variances regarding required distances from nearby residences and parks. Staff recommends approval of these requests with conditions.

Council Closed Session

City Council Meeting

The Seal Beach City Council will vote on routine financial approvals, including a $2,332,420 contract for the Lampson Avenue bike lane project and a $162,891 grant for a microtransit pilot program. These actions fund local infrastructure improvements and transportation options for residents. Staff will also present a water and sewer rate study, with a public hearing on proposed new utility rates scheduled for February 12, 2024. Finally, the council will reorganize leadership positions for 2024.

Special EQCB Meeting

The Environmental Quality Control Board is holding a scoping meeting regarding the Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for the Housing Element Update and Zoning Code Update. Staff will collect public input to identify actions, alternatives, and mitigation measures to be analyzed in the report.

Citizen-Council Parking Advisory Ad Hoc Committee

The committee will review a presentation regarding parking finance and discuss options from Dixon Resources. Members will also consider a recommendation to the City Council concerning paid parking on Main Street.

Citizen-Council Parking Advisory Ad Hoc Committee

The Citizen-Council Parking Advisory Ad Hoc Committee is meeting to discuss parking survey results. The committee will also receive and file the minutes from the October 12, 2023 meeting.

Council Closed Session

The City Council met in closed session to confer with legal counsel regarding potential liability and a request for a third tolling agreement from BKK Working Group concerning the BKK Landfill in West Covina, California. No public decisions or votes were recorded.
