Heritage Council

The Skowhegan Heritage Council is meeting to approve minutes from November 1, 2022, and discuss several heritage-related items, including the Dudley Corner Schoolhouse, Boston Post Cane, Abner Coburn Day, and Margaret Chase Smith Day. A presentation on Skowhegan hospitals history by Sharon Dunbar is scheduled. The next meeting is set for February 7, 2023.

Planning Board

The Skowhegan Planning Board will review a site inventory and analysis for the proposed new elementary school at 40 Heselton Street, submitted by Carroll Associates for MSAD 54. The board will also continue discussions on updating the Shoreland Zoning Ordinance and the Solid Waste Ordinance, and will consider a letter from the Maine Appalachian Trail Club about the Maine Trail Center project.
