SPENCER PARK BOARD MEETING
August 11, 2026
SPENCER, IOWA
The Park Board of the City of Spencer, Iowa, met on the 11th day of August, 2026 at 5:00 o’clock P.M.,
regular session in the Main Conference Room, pursuant to law, to adjournment and to the rules of said board. The
meeting was called to order by Chair Lawson.
Those present and absent were:
Present: Greer (by phone), Lawson, Soucek, Yarkosky, Grange
Absent: None
It was moved by Board Member Grange, seconded by Board Member Yarkosky to approve the board
minutes of July 14, 2026. The motion was declared carried when all Board Members present voted aye on voice
call vote.
Bob Fullhart, Parks & Recreation Director, informed the Board that the NRCS River Clean Up and Bank
Stabilization Project Grant is moving forward and the project is estimated to be complete by the end of 2026. This
project will include removing log jams/garbage and shoreline restoration.
Board Member Grange provided an update on the Park Audit she has been working on. The Board
ranked each Park Maintenance Level and plans to visit each park to continue the rating of Priority,
Condition and Accessibility at the next Park Board meeting.

AIRPORT BOARD OF TRUSTEES

SPENCER, IOWA
The Airport Board of Trustees of the City of Spencer, Iowa,
met on the 10th day of August, 2026, at 3:00 o'clock P.M., regular
session in the Main Conference Room, City Hall, Spencer, Iowa,
pursuant to law, to adjournment and to the rules of said Airport
Board of Trustees.
The meeting was called to order by Chair, Don Schoorman, and
the roll being called, there were present:
PRESENT: Norris, Veit, Peterson, Steffen, Schoorman
ABSENT: None
It was moved by Board Member Norris, seconded by Board
Member Steffen to approve the minutes of July 13, 2026. The
motion was declared carried when all Board Members present voted
aye on voice call vote.

Member Veit to approve the Claims, as presented for payment. The

AIRPORT BOARD OF TRUSTEES
June 8, 2026
SPENCER, IOWA
The Airport Board of Trustees of the City of Spencer, Iowa,
met on the 8th day of June, 2026, at 3:00 o'clock P.M., regular
session in the Upstairs Conference Room, City Hall, Spencer, Iowa,
pursuant to law, to adjournment and to the rules of said Airport
Board of Trustees.
The meeting was called to order by Chair, Don Schoorman, and
the roll being called, there were present:
PRESENT: Norris, Veit, Steffen, Schoorman
ABSENT: Peterson
It was moved by Board Member Norris, seconded by Board
Member Steffen to approve the minutes of May 11, 2026. The
motion was declared carried when all Board Members present voted
aye on voice call vote.

Member Veit to approve the Claims, as presented for payment. The
motion was declared carried when all Board Members present voted
aye on voice call vote.
The Board discussed Hangar Rent/New Hangar. The discussion
was on size of hangar and rent based off size. The Board will
continue discussion. Kruse, Cate & Nelson will provide square
footage.
It was moved by Board Member Steffen, seconded by Board
Member Veit to Approve Dakota Air Spray Lease. City Attorney,
Kerry Self will add termination provision to the lease allowing
30, 60 or 90 days. Automatic renewal unless otherwise specified.
