Present:
Jack Ketchum, Larry Mierle, Tom TenCate, Stephen Trocke
Absent:
Elias Achey, Christian Biasell, Jack Schroeder
Participants: Lukas Hill, Community Development Director
I.
Call to Order
The meeting was called to order by Ketchum at 7:00pm.
II.
Adopt Agenda
TenCate moved to adopt the agenda as presented. Mierle seconded the motion, which passed
unanimously.
III.
Approval of Minutes
TenCate moved to approve the minutes of the June 25, 2026, meeting as presented. Trocke
seconded the motion, which passed.
Ketchum noted there was an error in the May minutes regarding the comment from Thomas
Opperman. Opperman has contacted the Township and noted that the statement that he was opposed
to the variance was incorrect. His statement at the May meeting questioned why the new owners of
the property had to pay money and discuss the issue in front of the board, as the Township had time
to solve the zoning issue before the property changed hands, but he was not opposed to the variance.
Ketchum noted that because the minutes of the May meeting were approved at the June meeting, no
changes can be made to the minutes. However, the ZBA wanted to recognize Opperman’s comment
correctly.
