✓ Decided: Council approves new sheriff contract for police coverage through 2030
The council approved a new contract with the Gentry County Sheriff's Office to maintain police coverage from January 1, 2027, through December 31, 2030. The Board of Aldermen met in regular session at Stanberry City Hall, June 16, 2026, at 5:00pm with the following

The meeting was called to order by Mayor Rick Donovan at 5:00pm.
Minutes
The Council reviewed the minutes from May 13th, 2026, regular session meeting. Jeremy McQueen made a motion
to approve the May meeting minutes, seconded by Amber Schieber.

Claims
Council members reviewed claims to be paid for the month ending May 31, 2026, plus an additional claim to pay
for the 2025 Audit. Amber Schieber made a motion, seconded by Jeff Osborn, to approve the claims and the

Utility Foreman Report
Levi McGinley presented the utility foreman report. Utility crews have been working on patching streets with
Saturock, cleaning out ditches and tubes. The municipal pool is running smoothly, and sewer jetting has

The Zoning Board met at the above date and time with the following members present: Shanda Parrish,
David Hibbs, Doug McQuinn. Brad Noble joined the meeting via phone. Frank Wharton was absent.

garage that will infringe on the city right of way by about 8 feet at its southwest corner.

The council approved two ordinances changing utility bill due dates and penalty dates. Ordinance #445 moves the due date to the 20th and termination date to the 25th. Ordinance #446 adjusts the penalty date for delinquent accounts. Both were passed unanimously (3-0).

The Board of Aldermen met in regular session at Stanberry City Hall, February 11, 2026, at 5:30pm with the following
council present: Mayor Shanda Parrish, Alderman Jeff Osborn, Alderwoman Amber Schieber, and Alderman Josh
Schieber.
Others present: Administrator Laverne Smithson, City Clerk Christy Williams, Utilities Supervisor Levi McGinley, Rick
Donovan, and Lotte Laursen.

Call to Order
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Shanda Parrish at 5:29pm.

The Council reviewed the minutes from January 19th, 2026, regular session meeting. Amber Schieber made a motion to
approve the January meeting minutes, seconded by Jeff Osborn. The motion was approved as follows: Ayes – 3, Nays –
0.
Claims
Council members reviewed claims to be paid for the month ending January 31, 2025. Jeff Osborn made a motion,
seconded by Amber Schieber, to approve the claims. The motion was approved as follows: Ayes – 3, Nays – 0.
Sheriff’s Report
Sheriff Nick Tompkins was absent. Nothing reported.
Utility Foreman Report
Levi McGinley presented the utility foreman report. Levi has started work in the city park to run more electrical lines
along the sidewalks and installed gas service to part of the old factory building. Street crew has been working on

Sheriff’s Report
Sheriff Nick Tompkins presented the sheriff’s report. Gentry County Sheriff’s office has been awarded
the Local Violent Crime Grant in the amount of $19,000 which will be used to purchase new radios for
the Sheriff’s department. Sheriff Tompkins has gotten approval to purchase a 2022 Ford F150. All the
department’s vehicles besides one car have now been replaced with trucks and SUVs.
