St. Augustine Beach sets tentative property tax rate for FY 2027 budget
The City Commission will review the proposed FY 2027 budget and set the tentative operating millage rate, with a recommendation to adopt 2.6700 mills. Chair Candler called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.

Present: Chair Karen Candler, Vice Chair Todd Grant, Members Craig Thomson, Sandra
Krempasky, and Alternate Lana Bandy
Member Sarah Kent Seignious was absent.
Also present: City Clerk Dariana Fitzgerald.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF THE APRIL 9, 2026, REGULAR MEETING
Motion: to approve the minutes of April 9, 2026. Moved by: Member Krempasky. Seconded by:
Vice Chair Gran,t. Motion passed unanimously.

PRESENTATION OF REPORTS:
1. Arbor Day Event Recap
The Committee discussed the Arbor Day event, noting that overall the event was successful
and well received by attendees, particularly the distribution of larger trees. Members agreed
it was a positive effort with good community participation, Including additional tree pickups
over the weekend following social media outreach. However, several logistical and planning
Issues were identified for improvement. The composting bin initiative was not implemented
as intended due to it arriving unassembled, highlighting the need for better preparation and
coordination. Members emphasized the importance of strengthening the educational
component for future events to ensur …
