The Board of Selectmen approved several funding requests for school and emergency service projects to be forwarded to the Board of Finance. The board also rejected all bids for a fiber optic cable installation project. One resignation from the Tax Assessment Appeals Board was accepted.

Historic Properties Commission

The Historic Properties Commission will hold its regular meeting on January 10, 2023, at 7:00 p.m. in the Town Hall meeting room. The agenda includes appointment of alternates, approval of November 2022 minutes, and discussion items covering ongoing maintenance of historic properties, updates from the Waterford Historical Society, and the status of the Nevins Cottage, Eugene O'Neill Theater Center, cemeteries, and the Oil Mill District.

The commission accepted the minutes from the November 15, 2022, meeting. Members discussed upcoming repairs to the Beebe Phillips House and potential signage for three local cemeteries. No other formal votes on projects or ordinances were taken.

Representative Town Meeting (RTM)

The Finance, Wage & Personnel Standing Committee will consider and possibly act on the salaries of the Registrars of Voters, a matter referred from the RTM on December 5, 2022. At the prior meeting on December 21, 2022, the committee heard testimony from both Registrars but took no action, deciding additional research by town counsel was needed. This special meeting will also include approval of the December 21, 2022 meeting minutes.
