Preston Township Subdivision & Land Development Ordinance (SALDO) Amendments –
In late March, our office completed a review of current and previous proposed SALDO
amendments. The proposed amendments spanned two separate proposals that encompassed
proposed changes from the past two years. The majority of the changes had to do with Solar
Energy Systems in terms of both regulations and amended or added definitions. However, some
proposed changes were also more general and administrative in nature. Our review was
completed on March 30 th , and as we understand it, the Township is working through the
proposed changes and recommendations.

The commissioners approved the minutes from the Jan. 15 meeting and accepted two resignations. They approved a new MOU for the Children’s Advocacy Center and allocated $42,656 to the Agricultural Easement Fund. The board also hired a Solid Waste/Recycling Director and a part‑time Election Data Manager, and authorized payment of over $1.15 million in bills.

The regular meeting of the Wayne County Commissioners was held on this date with
Commissioner Brian W. Smith presiding. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Smith
with Commissioner James Shook and Commissioner Jocelyn Cramer present.
The Commissioners were presented with copies of minutes from the meeting held January 15 ,
2026. A motion was made by Commissioner Shook, seconded by Commissioner Cramer and
unanimous to approve the minutes for January 15 , 2026.

Received a letter of resignation from Children and Youth Caseworker Rebecca O ’Neill,
effective January 30, 2026. A motion was made by Commissioner Cramer , seconded by
Commissioner Shook and unanimous to accept this letter.

unanimous to accept the letter of retirement, with regret and congratulations, from Lynn
Johannes, part-time Clerk in the Treasurer ’s office, effective March 31, 2026.
