Historic Preservation Board

This is a special meeting of the Wichita Historic Preservation Board. The board will discuss with USD259 and the Kansas State Historical Society the eligibility of schools for listing on the Wichita Register of Historic Places (WRHP), the Register of Historic Kansas Places (RKHP), and the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). Homelessness Task Force

The Homelessness Task Force received updates on the Emergency Winter Shelter, the Multi-Agency Center (MAC), and a proposed camping ordinance. The MAC board has signed an agreement with the city for $5 million in ARPA funds, with an operating agreement expected in January. The Golf Board of Governors denied a motion to increase all membership rates by $7 (2-3). Advanced Plans Committee

The Advance Plans Committee unanimously recommended approving Unified Zoning Code changes to allow Day Care, General uses in more residential districts via an administrative permit. Citizen's Review Board

The Citizens Review Board will meet to review Wichita Police Department reports and conduct a PSB case review. The board will also discuss appointing a subcommittee for bylaws and officer roles for January 2025.

The Wichita Citizens Review Board voted 10-0 to find no policy violation in complaint 22PSB1193, taking no further action. They also approved a motion to request WPD data on de-escalation by March 2025, and set their January 2025 agenda to include citation discussion and training. The board discussed its advisory role and limitations, and heard public comment from Dr. Walt Chappel about racial profiling concerns.

Board of Park Commissioners

Board of Park Commissioners

The board approved a request to erect a hitching post dedication at Pawnee Prairie Park in honor of Terry Fry.
