Board of Supervisors

The Wise County Board of Supervisors will hold joint public hearings on a request by JMB Investment Company, LLC to rezone two parcels from R-2 to B-1 for a Dollar General Store and to close and vacate two rights-of-way. Under unfinished business, the board will consider these same requests and also discuss eliminating deposits and increasing rental rates for community centers. The Wise County Planning Commission approved a rezoning request by JMB Investment Company, LLC to change two parcels from R-2 to B-1 to allow for a Dollar General store. The approval is contingent upon VDOT approval of the proposed entrance. The motion passed unanimously with all present members voting aye.

The Wise County Planning Commission approved an amendment to the Wise County Comprehensive Plan to reflect VDOT road projects, including extending the right turn lane and striping on Wise Norton Rd and adding a center double turn lane on Coeburn Mountain Rd. The amendment had already been approved by the Board of Supervisors and was approved unanimously by the commission.
