The Newton City Commission will review several consent items, including minutes from the April 28 meeting, a temporary closure of Athletic Park Circle for the Cookie Daze 5K, and a building inspection agreement with the City of Peabody. On the regular agenda the commission will receive a 2027 budget request from Safehope, adopt proclamations for National Police Week and Public Works Week, consider a ground lease agreement with Ballard Aviation, and evaluate temporary alcohol permits for upcoming community events. Likiardopoulos noted that this was a request for replacement of 3 upper story
windows at 417 N Main, commonly referred to as the Clayworks
building. The replacement are
a composite, one over one single sash windows, and will be keeping the same stone frames.
