My name is Saria Cochran and I'm here representing I Don't Know Bar located at 650 East Hopkins Street. First, I want to thank you for giving me the opportunity to speak regarding our conditional use permit renewal. I understand there have been concerns about noise complaints and calls for police service associated with our business. I want you all to know that we take those concerns seriously. We are not here to dismiss the complaints or say that there have not been any issues. I want to explain what we are doing to address them and how we'll continue to address them moving forward. Regarding noise, we have had calls come to the police and we do have sound level meters and we have tested it and always been in code. However, we like to keep our neighbors happy so we always get with the DJ and have them turn it down if a complaint comes in from the police or to our direct bar phone. We do not have outdoor speakers and we do not want to disturb our neighbors. We are also paying closer attention to noise coming from our customers outside of the building and making sure our staff addresses excessive noise when it occurs. As far as police calls, we understand why the number and nature of calls may concern the commission. The staff are all working together as well as SNPD to prevent situations from escalating.
