The City Council and Sunnyvale Financing Authority adopted the FY 2026/27 budget, fee schedule, and appropriations limit, with amendments directing staff to host a public meeting on a potential food cooperative and increasing Leadership Sunnyvale funding from $6,000 to $8,000 annually with future increases in line with other cost increases. The Council also approved utility rate increases for water (7.5%), wastewater (7%), and solid waste (3%) for FY 2026/27, despite 102 protests.
