Fort Pierce commission faces procurement overhaul, land-use hearings as summer meetings ramp up
Fort Pierce's recent public meetings spanned procurement rules, historic demolition, utility budgets, and union negotiations — but minutes have not yet been published for any of them, so final outcomes are not confirmed. What follows is based on the agendas released for each meeting.
City Commission — July 20
The City Commission's regular meeting agenda included public hearings on three Community Development Block Grant plans: the Annual Action Plan 2026–2027, the Citizen Participation Plan 2026–2030, and the Consolidated Plan 2026–2030 (Resolutions 26-R43, R44, and R45).
The agenda also listed the second reading of Ordinance 26-004, which would replace Chapter 2, Article VI (Purchasing) with a new Procurement Code. A first reading of Ordinance 26-014, amending impact fee offsets and credits, was also scheduled.
Four voluntary annexation applications near 2528 South Ocean Drive (Ordinances 26-005 through 26-008) were withdrawn by the applicant, according to the agenda.
Commissioners were set to discuss a proposal from S. Renée Narloch & Associates to conduct a search for a new City Attorney at a cost not to exceed $30,950.
Other boards and committees
- **CRA Advisory Committee (July 22):** Agenda included review of a commercial sign application at 605 S US Highway 1, discussion of demolition grant program guidelines, discussion of FPRA surplus property disposition, and artist selection for a mural at St. Andrew's Episcopal Academy.

Cancelled meetings
