Arvada Park Advisory Committee unanimously backs climate action plan; City Council took up $3.5M road contract and land-use items
The Arvada Park Advisory Committee voted unanimously on July 8 to send a formal letter of support to City Council for the Climate and Sustainability Action Plan (CASAP), the only binding action confirmed in official minutes from the past two weeks of city meetings.
Park Advisory Committee: CASAP support and park updates
APAC approved corrected minutes from its May meeting and then voted unanimously to send a signed letter of support for CASAP to City Council. The committee directed staff to forward the signed letter. Members also reviewed a park site visit app and set a goal of two monthly member visits.
Staff provided updates on trail construction, park master plans, summer programming, and public art. No further binding actions were taken on those items, according to the official minutes.
City Council (July 7): Road contract, rezoning, and CASAP on the agenda
The July 7 City Council meeting agenda included several consequential items, but minutes have not yet been published, so outcomes are not confirmed.
The agenda listed a $3,565,355.67 construction contract for West 72nd Avenue with Sema Construction, Inc. It also included annexation and rezoning of 5.3980 acres for Revival Industrial south of State Highway 72, and rezoning of Candelas Parcels 1-2, 1-5, and 1-6 near Highway 72 and Highway 93.
The council was also scheduled to consider adoption of the City of Arvada's Climate and Sustainability Action Plan and renewal of the Comcast franchise agreement for use of City rights-of-way.
Sustainability Advisory Committee: Post-CASAP discussion
The Sustainability Advisory Committee met July 8 to discuss next steps following the passage of CASAP. The agenda included updates from committee members, staff, and council liaisons, as well as updates from the Communications & Outreach Subcommittee. Minutes have not yet been published.
City Council (July 14): Executive session on personnel
City Council met July 14 in executive session to conduct performance evaluations for the Municipal Judge, the City Attorney, and the City Manager. Minutes have not yet been published.

July 21 — City Council (PHA Plan hearing): A public hearing on the Draft 2027 Public Housing Authority (PHA) Plan and administrative plan updates. The council will also consider the Arvada Housing Authority 2025–2026 Annual Report, adopt the PHA Plan for the 2027 program year, review Housing Choice Voucher Program 2026 Administrative Plan updates, and approve February 3, 2026 meeting minutes.
July 21 — City Council (land use and franchise hearings): Public hearings on the Comcast franchise agreement renewal and the annexation, rezoning to MX-S, and conditional use permit for Revival Industrial (5.3980 acres south of State Highway 72). The agenda also includes a Land Development Code modification for a gravel driveway and ADU at 6800 W 55th Ave, a communications site lease agreement with T-Mobile West LLC at 7710 Reno Drive, and an Adams County Open Space Grant Agreement for the Tennyson Complete and Connected Corridor.
