Texas School for the Deaf board agendas include FY27 budget, superintendent evaluation
The Texas School for the Deaf Governing Board met twice this week, with agendas covering the school's next fiscal year budget, a legislative funding request, and an evaluation of the superintendent. Budget and funding request
At its Aug. 20 regular meeting, the board had on its agenda approval of the FY27 operating budget and the 2028-2029 Legislative Appropriations Request. The same agenda included the FY26 annual internal audit finding report, a school safety and security update on intruder detection audit findings, and approval of library books.
Superintendent evaluation and goals
The Aug. 19 regular meeting agenda included a summative evaluation of the superintendent for the 2025-2026 school year and discussion of performance goals for 2026-2027.
Policy review
The Aug. 20 policy committee meeting was set to approve minutes from the April 9, 2026 meeting and to review 14 board policy documents, including BJA, BT, CDC, and CJ with DM revisions.
Other items
The Aug. 20 regular meeting also listed approvals for the student code of conduct, teacher appraisal revisions, and student performance indicators, along with routine consent items.
