Longview ISD agenda includes $871K tech purchase, property sale; budget workshop set for Aug. 12
Longview ISD's board has not made any formal decisions in the past two weeks, but its upcoming agenda includes a $871,485 technology purchase, a property sale, and a budget workshop. The board met July 27, Aug. 3, and Aug. 4, but minutes have not been published, and no votes are recorded.
July 27 regular meeting
The July 27 agenda included a proposal to purchase instructional technology totaling $871,485.33 for Chromebooks, laptops, and Smartboards. The board also considered selling district-owned property at 500 Magrill Street to CHRISTUS Good Shepherd Medical Center. Other items included a copier RFP award to Epic Office Solutions for $301,325.00 with an annual service agreement of $135,360.00, authorization for a Guaranteed Maximum Price contract with Jackson Construction for the LISD Transportation Center, and setting a public hearing for Aug. 24 to adopt the 2026-2027 budget and tax rate.
Aug. 3 meeting with pastors
The board met with community pastors on Aug. 3 to open dialogue and share updates. No formal decisions or votes were listed on the agenda.
Aug. 4 Bond Oversight Committee
The Bond Oversight Committee met Aug. 4 to receive presentations on bond projects from Longview ISD Administration, E-4 Contracting, and PROCEDEO. The agenda included a bond program financial update, review of upcoming construction milestones and communications, and approval of minutes from the May 4, 2026 meeting.
Upcoming budget workshop
On Aug. 12, the board will hold a budget workshop for the 2026-2027 school year. The only substantive action item is a proposal to apply for a Pre-K Partnership pass-through waiver for the 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 school years in partnership with Rising Star Daycares. The rest of the agenda is procedural.
