Carrizo Springs CISD board reviews budget, policies; election call ahead
The Carrizo Springs C.I.S.D. board held three meetings in late July to review the proposed 2026-2027 budget, routine financial approvals, and student assessment data. Minutes have not yet been published, so no official decisions are available. The board will meet again Aug. 13 to consider calling a November election for four trustee seats.
Budget workshop (July 27)
The board met in a workshop to review a finance overview and the proposed 2026-2027 budget. The agenda included a presentation by Josh Haney of Moak Casey and a budget presentation by CFO Anna Diaz. An executive session was scheduled to discuss personnel matters, including resignations, retirements, and new employment.
Regular meeting (July 28)
The regular meeting agenda included a first reading of TASB-initiated Local Policy Update 127, approval of a vendor report for purchases over $50,000, and approval of the 2026-2027 Purchase of Attendance Credit (Option 3 Agreement). Special meeting (July 29)
A special meeting was held to discuss 2026 STAAR assessment data and possible revisions to board goals and superintendent guardrails. Possible action on executive session items was listed for open session.
Coming up: Aug. 13 special meeting
The board will hold a special meeting on Aug. 13 to consider two election-related items: a resolution to enter into a Joint Election Contract with Dimmit County and an order calling a November 3, 2026, election for four at-large Board of Trustee seats. The board will also consider the superintendent's recommendation for the 2026-2027 District Lead Nurse and approve minutes from the July 28 regular meeting and amended minutes from March 24, 2026. An executive session for personnel matters is also scheduled.
