Plan Commission — July 13

The commission approved minutes from its June 8, 2026 meeting and took several votes, all carrying with all present voting aye.

The commission recommended the Common Council rezone the 13.32-acre parcel from C-2 to R3-A and hold a public hearing on the change. It also recommended the council approve a Certified Survey Map for the same parcel and approve the Wissota Lane Extraterritorial Plat in the Town of Lafayette.

• Recommended amending Planned Development Conditional Use Permit No. 2025-105 and holding a public hearing for Willow Creek Lots 1-2.

Board of Public Works — July 13

The board approved minutes of its June 22, 2026 meeting and voted on several items, all passing with all present voting aye.

The board recommended the Common Council approve petitions to repave alleys in Block 25 (Poplar Street) and Block 13 of the Mansfield Addition, and to begin engineering design for both projects.

The board also agreed to tighten lease language for a 40 ft × 120 ft easement, verify details with Xcel, and recommend council approval of a $1,260 lease.

The Recycling, Computerization, Buildings & Intergovernmental Services Committee was scheduled to discuss the City's Capital Improvement Planning process, including a presentation from ISG Facility Design Services on facility assessments. The Common Council meets July 21 to consider Ordinance #2026-10 on convicted child and violent sex offender restrictions, temporary Class "B" beer license applications for the Northern Wisconsin State Fair Association (Fairest Gala and Oktoberfest) and St. Charles Borromeo Parish festival, and a street-use permit for the Oktoberfest Royalty Procession on the northbound lane of Hwy 124 from Leinenkugel's to Edward Street. Chippewa Falls Council declines City Administrator candidates; committee advances sex offender code revisions

The Chippewa Falls Common Council voted not to extend a job offer to either of two City Administrator candidates interviewed in a June 29 special meeting, directing the search firm to keep looking. The decision leaves the city's top administrative post still unfilled as summer continues.

City Administrator search continues

During a special meeting on June 29, 2026, the Common Council entered closed session to interview candidates Stelzner and Gabrielatos for the City Administrator position. Upon returning to open session, the Council voted not to extend an offer to either candidate and instructed Public Administration Associates (PAA) to continue the search. The meeting adjourned at 3:52 p.m.

Committee advances sex offender code revisions, medical transport agreements

On June 30, the Transportation, Construction, Public Safety & Traffic Committee (Committee #3) voted unanimously on several recommendations to the full Council:

• Recommended Council approve revisions to Municipal Code Chapter 9.125 regarding convicted child and violent sex offenders (all present voting aye).
• Recommended Council approve a Street Use Permit for Jeremy Stary to place two memorial benches at 510 N Bridge Street (all present voting aye).
• Recommended Council approve Medical Transportation Service Agreements between Fire and Emergency Services and care facilities (all present voting aye).
• Approved minutes of the June 2 and June 9, 2026 meetings (all present voting aye).

Police & Fire Commission holds Fire Department interviews

The Police and Fire Commission met June 29 in closed session to conduct Fire Department interviews at 5:45 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. The commission could return to open session for possible action on those interviews. Minutes have not yet been published, so outcomes are not yet available.
