Planning & Zoning Commission

On Aug. 6, the commission held a public hearing on the updated Future Thoroughfare Plan for the City's Comprehensive Plan. The agenda included a rezoning of 317 East Eistetter Street and 316/318 East Bustamante Street from B-1 to B-3, adoption of the plan as Appendix D, preliminary plats for Embarcadero Phase 13, San Jose Del Rio, and Lomas Commercial, final plats for D&J Alexander Phase 15 and The Reserve at Regency, and a final replat of North Webb Industrial Park, Phase I.

It will also consider conditional use permits for an auto body shop at 2917 Market Street and a warehouse/heavy machinery sales at 2303 Santa Rita Avenue (9,000 sq ft), plus a rezoning at 219 East Taylor Street from R-3 to B-3. The agenda includes preliminary and final plat reviews and a model rule subdivision compliance item. Laredo City Council approves $11.25M Sports Complex contract, annexes land

The Laredo City Council approved a $11.25 million contract for the completion of Sports Complex Venue Phase 1B at its July 27 meeting, along with several land annexations and a $2.889 million contract for a Fire Station #10 fleet annex building. The council also denied multiple conditional use permits for gas stations seeking to sell alcohol.
