The council also planned to recess into the Seguin Employee Benefit Trust to award 2027 employee health, dental and life benefits and fund the trust, and to meet in closed session on City-owned property on or near South Travis Street and a possible donation of property for public park purposes on or near Kingsbury Street east of the Highway 123 Bypass.

Planning & Zoning Commission, Oct. 13: three land-use requests

The commission scheduled public hearings and possible action on a Specific Use Permit for a driving range at 2711 State Hwy 46 N (SUP 04-26); a zoning change from Agricultural Ranch to Rural Residential at the 300 Blk of Willmann Rd. (ZC 13-26); and a zoning change from Single Family Residential to Public at 634 S. Goodrich Street (ZC 14-26). Approval of minutes from the September 8, 2026 meeting was also listed.

Regional Workforce Education Alliance, Oct. 13

Agenda items were discussion and clarification on RWEA Bylaws; an update on the Workforce Study for Comal and Guadalupe Counties; discussion on upcoming CTTC building tenancy; and updates from ISDs, Post-Secondary Educational Institutions and FAME Lone Star Chapter.

Seguin Council agenda includes tax rate vote, $1.8M sewer repair; no decisions confirmed yet

The City of Seguin's most consequential items this week are on the agenda for the Aug. 18 City Council meeting, where the council is set to vote on the proposed FY2027 tax rate of $.5294 per $100 valuation and award a $1,831,407.60 contract to Austin Filter Systems for the Nolan Street Outfall Emergency Repair. The meeting also includes a $370,311.70 contract to Ruboca & Maya Construction for the Heideke Sidewalks Project. Minutes from this meeting have not yet been published, so the outcomes are not confirmed.

City Council

The council held a special session on Aug. 12 for a budget workshop and to consider several utility resolutions. The agenda included a presentation of proposed FY2027 budgets for the General, Debt Service, Special Revenue, and Utility funds. The council also considered Resolution 26-330, authorizing an agreement with Fuquay, Inc. for the Country Club Drive Utility Replacement Project, and Resolution 26-332, authorizing a Master Short Form Services Agreement with HDR Engineering, Inc. Regional Workforce Education Alliance

On Aug. 11, the Regional Workforce Education Alliance met to elect a chair for the remaining term to April 2027, review its bylaws and purpose, and discuss the ex-officio membership status of post-secondary educational institutions. Members received an update on the Workforce Study for Comal and Guadalupe Counties and debriefed the Regional Externship Program. The agenda also included updates from ISDs, post-secondary institutions, FAME Lone Star Chapter, Chamber of Commerce, workforce industries, and cities. Minutes are not yet published.

The Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone #1 Board of Directors will meet to review the fund's balance and discuss possible project concepts and funding priorities, and approve minutes from the Nov. 12, 2025 meeting. No specific projects or dollar amounts are listed.

The Seguin Economic Development Corporation board will vote on its FY2027 budget and a professional services contract with Pettit & Ayala Consulting, LLC for the Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone #3. The board will also hear a presentation on a Unified Development Code amendment that would add data centers as a land use, and enter closed session to discuss economic development negotiations for two confidential projects, Project Appliance and Project Rock.

Seguin council weighs utility rates, zoning changes; minutes pending

The Seguin City Council met Aug. 4 to consider utility rate changes, zoning requests, and a budget approval, but official minutes have not been published, so no decisions are confirmed. The council also held a separate agenda item for a possible quorum at a manufacturers luncheon, and the Regional Workforce Education Alliance met Aug. 11. All meetings are listed as agenda-only, meaning outcomes are not yet available.

City Council agenda (Aug. 4)

Zoning Board of Adjustment (July 9)

The board considered two variance requests. Jesus Palacios Delgado sought a reduction of the front setback from 25 feet to 3 feet to retain an unpermitted carport at 730 S River St. (VAR 07-26); staff recommended denial, citing a lack of hardship.
