Collier County boards weigh affordable housing, tax rates, and code enforcement; outcomes pending

Board of County Commissioners (July 14)
The agenda included two companion items affecting 4.18 acres at Golden Gate Parkway and 60th Street: an amendment to Ordinance No. 89-05 to change the land use designation, and a rezoning from Estates (E) to Residential Planned Unit Development (RPUD) for the Golden Gate Parkway/60th St. RPUD project, permitting up to 36 multifamily townhouse units with affordable housing.
Commissioners were also scheduled to adopt a resolution establishing proposed maximum property tax rates for FY 2026/27 and setting advertised public hearing dates for September 2026, and to consider an unsolicited proposal for a sale-leaseback transaction involving Marco Island Executive Airport facilities.

Planning Commission (July 16)
The Planning Commission had two agendas scheduled the same day. One included an ordinance amendment (PL20260003715) to waive fuel pump separation requirements in Chapter Five of the Collier County Land Development Code, plus discussions of urbanized outdoor residential street lighting (2026-1822) and data centers (2026-1823).
