Coeur d'Alene School Board weighs levy, portable transfer; no minutes yet
The Coeur d'Alene Public Schools Board of Trustees held three meetings in the past two weeks, addressing a possible supplemental levy election, a land-swap amendment, and a donation of portable classrooms to a Washington district. Minutes have not been published for any of the meetings, so no official decisions are confirmed.
Supplemental levy and policy changes (Aug. 10)
The board's regular meeting agenda included Resolution 27-02, which would call a supplemental levy election. Also on the agenda was an amendment to the Hayden Lift Station memorandum of understanding, a land swap related to a sewer lift station. The board was scheduled to consider a new policy on a minute of silence (Policy 2352, per Idaho Code 33-1639) and a revised policy on required annual notices (Policy 4175). Personnel actions and alternate authorizations were listed for P. Bax, T. Lilley, and T. Sandford. The meeting included public comments and an executive session for legal and trade matters.
Training retreat (Aug. 12)
The board held a special meeting and training session at Pinkerton Wealth Management, 2000 W. John Loop, Coeur d'Alene. The agenda covered board goals, training, and setting future meeting dates. No public comments were heard and no live stream was available; comments could be emailed to [email protected]. The retreat also set a possible emergency levy special meeting for Sept. 11, 2026, a regular board meeting for Sept. 14, 2026, at Midtown Center, 1505 N. 5th St., and a board workshop for Sept. 28, 2026, at Midtown Center.
Portable transfer to Inchelium (Aug. 17)
A special meeting was held to consider a single action item: Resolution 27-03, which would transfer portable classrooms to the Inchelium School District in Washington. The agenda included a property purchase and sale agreement for the portables. Public comments were accepted during the meeting and by email. The meeting was not live-streamed but was scheduled to be posted on YouTube afterward.
