Humble ISD Board to consider $6M transfer for medical claims, vendor contracts
The Humble ISD Board of Trustees held three meetings in the past week, with the most consequential item a proposed $6 million transfer from reserves to cover medical claims, scheduled for a vote at the Aug. 11 regular meeting. The board also reviewed security audits and met in closed session on personnel and legal matters. Minutes for all three meetings have not yet been published, so no decisions have been confirmed.
Regular meeting: $6M transfer and vendor contracts
The Aug. 11 regular meeting agenda includes a consent agenda with a $6,000,000 transfer from the unassigned general fund balance to Fund 771 for medical claims. Also on the agenda:
- $857,350.44 in bond fund capital project budgetary transfers
- Approval of vendors for district-wide plumbing parts and accessories (RFP 2027-08)
- Ratification of a clerical error in a 2024 fiber services contract (RFP 2024-08)
- Approval of additional vendors for athletic equipment, photography, and special education supplies
The board will also consider personnel recommendations and a student grievance appeal from closed session.
Safety committee reviews security audits
The School Safety and Security Committee met Aug. 6 to discuss district vulnerability assessments and security audits. Agenda items included:
- District Vulnerability Assessment
- 3 Year Audit Review - HCDE Awards
- Intruder Detection Audits - OEM Award
- E-Bike / E-Scooter Guidelines
- Raptor Visitor Management
Special meeting on personnel and legal matters
A special meeting was held Aug. 10. The board entered closed session under Section 551.074 for personnel deliberations and Section 551.071 for legal consultation. Public comment was limited to agenda items only.
