Fuquay-Varina boards to weigh $20M contract, zoning changes this week
Fuquay-Varina's Board of Commissioners is set to consider a $20.1 million amendment to the Public Service Center Phase II construction contract at its Aug. 18 meeting, along with public hearings on five zoning and annexation requests. No decisions have been published from the three meetings held in the past two weeks, as minutes are not yet available.

Board of Commissioners (Aug. 3)
The board's agenda included several items that were up for decision, though outcomes are not yet public. These included:
- A contract award for the Wilbur Jones Road / Johnson Pond Road railroad crossing closure, valued at $151,455.
- A contract award for the Wilbon Road 1 Million-Gallon Elevated Water Storage Tank Project.

- Zoning map amendment for Sampson-Bladen Oil at 2201/2205/portion of 2221 Piney Grove Wilbon Road (REZ-2026-12).
It will also consider a $20,145,809 amendment to the Public Service Center Phase II GMP contract with Edifice General Contractors (POA-27-03, BA-27-02), and a budget amendment of $20,985 in insurance proceeds for the Police Department (BA-27-03). A first reading of the Sunset Lake Road zoning request is also on the agenda.
