Gettysburg Council, Boards Review Infrastructure and Historic Projects; Outcomes Pending
Gettysburg Borough Council, the Storm Water Authority, and the Historic Architectural Review Board met recently to review infrastructure projects and property renovations. However, minutes for these meetings have not yet been published, so official decisions and vote tallies are not yet available in the public record.
Borough Council
On July 13, the Borough Council agenda included authorizing construction bid advertisements for three projects: the FY 2024 CDBG curb ramp project, the E. Lincoln Storm Drain project, and the E. Water Street Bridge Repair Project. The agenda also listed a $13,891.20 change order for the Gettysburg Borough Welcome Center Project and a $181,219.00 payment for the 2026 Street Improvement project. Additionally, the meeting was scheduled to include a presentation on the 2025 audit and updates to the Emergency Operations Plan. Storm Water Authority
The Gettysburg Borough Storm Water Authority (GBSWA) also met on July 13. The agenda featured a 2025 audit presentation by Jennifer CruverKibbi, CPA, and a review of current financial updates, including revenue, expenses, and billing liens. Members were scheduled to receive progress updates on several ongoing infrastructure projects. These included the Steven’s Run / Water Street Bridge, the GMA Sewer Interceptor Project, the Columbia Gas Project / East Lincon Avenue, Gettysburg Station Storm Water Management, and the Met-Ed status of a punctured storm sewer pipe. Historic Architectural Review Board
On July 15, the Historic Architectural Review Board (HARB) was scheduled to review applications for exterior changes to historic properties. Items on the agenda included roof replacements at 252 and 252½ Baltimore Street, the demolition of an unsafe garage at 40 W. High Street, and porch, steps, and railing updates at 631 S. Washington Street. The board also planned to review the construction of a 16’x32’ bus transit center with a canopy at 111 N. Stratton Street and a recommendation on the Chapter 11 Historic District Ordinance. HARB conducts design review only; any approved projects require final approval by Borough Council. This process ensures exterior modifications comply with local historic district standards before property owners proceed. Outcomes are not yet available.

The Planning Commission will meet on July 20 to consider a subdivision proposal from Habitat for Humanity for the 432–434 South Washington Street site (SLD26-00228). The agenda also includes a presentation on updating the Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance, with no formal action requested. Public comment will be restricted to items on the agenda, followed by routine approvals of the meeting agenda and minutes.
