Glenn Heights council weighs tax rate, budget; police panel reviews policies
Glenn Heights city officials this week weighed a proposed property tax rate and a draft budget, while a citizen police advisory panel reviewed domestic violence policies and public engagement plans. City Council: tax rate and budget
At its Aug. 4 meeting, the City Council discussed a proposed ad valorem tax rate of $0.590821 for fiscal year 2026-2027. The council also set dates for public hearings on the budget and tax rate, though the agenda did not specify those dates. Other agenda items included a public hearing for a daycare specific use permit at 1800 S. Hampton Road (Freedom Church), implementation of automated license plate reader software, and approval of a consultant to recruit a grocery store to the city. The Planning and Zoning Commission will meet Aug. 13. The agenda includes a public hearing on an amendment to Planned Development-33 at 2011 S. Westmoreland Road. The commission will also discuss and consider a recommendation on the revised Aura Glenn Heights (UHL Crossing) site plan for 13.941 acres near Ovilla Road and South UHL Road.
