Bradenton Special Magistrate imposes daily fines, grants reductions; insurance and tree boards met without published outcomes
The Bradenton Special Magistrate issued code enforcement fines and granted several fine reductions at its July 8 hearing, the only recent city meeting with published minutes. The Special Magistrate approved minutes from its June 2, 2026, meeting and then addressed more than a dozen code violation cases across the city.
Fine reductions granted. The magistrate reduced fines for three properties to $2,500.00 each, due by August 6, 2026:

- 1008/1010 16th Avenue West
- 4455 6th Avenue East
Daily fines and compliance orders. The magistrate imposed a $75.00 daily fine on 2809 17th Street Court West and issued compliance orders with escalating daily fines for several properties:
- 202 21st Street NE — comply within 90 days or face $75.00 daily fine
- 1514 30th Street West — comply within 90 days or face $75.00 daily fine
- 1834 7th Avenue East — comply within 120 days or face $150.00 daily fine
- 1916 10th Avenue Drive East — comply within 180 days or face $100.00 daily fine
- 2801 11th Avenue East — comply within 30 days or face $200.00 daily fine
- 206 32nd Street West — comply within 180 days or face $100.00 daily fine
- 617 32nd Street West — comply within 30 days or face $250.00 daily fine
Extensions and continuances. Compliance extensions were granted for 1114 12th Street West until September 8, 2026, and for 1105 17th Avenue West until January 3, 2027. Cases for 102 23rd Street Court NE and 1507 7th Avenue West were continued until August 13, 2026.
Speed camera appeals dismissed. The magistrate dismissed speed camera appeals for Reginaldo Ricardo Bowen, Justine Omi Rodriguez, and Cameisha Chavala Underwood.
Tree & Land Preservation Board — July 9
The Tree & Land Preservation Board met July 9, but minutes have not been published. According to the agenda, the board was scheduled to discuss June 2026 tree removal permits, consider a letter to City Council regarding new member recruitment, review a recommendation letter to City Administration for a Certified Arborist, and approve minutes from its June 19, 2026, meeting. Insurance and Benefits Committee — July 13
The Insurance and Benefits Committee met July 13, but minutes have not been published. The agenda listed motions to approve or deny proposed health insurance rates for the 2026-2027 benefit year and supplemental benefit recommendations, both presented by Brown and Brown.
