Hanford City Council scheduled to weigh eminent domain, vehicle and infrastructure purchases

Planning Commission — July 14

Parks and Recreation Commission — July 13
The Parks and Recreation Commission agenda included routine consent-calendar items and division updates covering the sports complex, parks, marketing and sponsorship, programs, directors, and recreation events.
The Commission was also scheduled to discuss a Public Works recommendation on weekly maintenance closure periods for off-leash community dog parks. No other specific decisions were listed on the agenda. Minutes have not yet been published.

The Commission will hold a public hearing on Amended Annexation 165 and Prezone No. 0013-24, which proposes to annex approximately 86.4 acres into Hanford city limits from Kings County. The area, located north of Grangeville Boulevard and east of 9 ¼ Avenue, would be prezoned as Medium-Density Residential (80.95 acres) and Neighborhood Mixed Use (5.45 acres). The proposal includes parcels with APNs 014-143-069, 014-143-078, and 014-143-022. The consent calendar includes approval of the July 14, 2026 meeting minutes.
