Hanover Board set to weigh Chesapeake Bay ordinance, road funding plan; outcomes pending

Board of Supervisors — July 22

The Board of Supervisors was scheduled to hold a public hearing on Ordinance 26-04, which would amend Hanover County's Chesapeake Bay Preservation Ordinance. The consent agenda listed approval of June 24 meeting minutes, committee appointments, and a $223,170 Virginia Opioid Abatement Authority regional grant.

Several zoning and conditional-use public hearings were also on the agenda: a special exception for a private garage on Rocky Ridge Road, rezoning of agricultural land on Rimfire Road, and a conditional use permit for a telecommunications tower on Blunts Bridge Road. Additional items included permits for pickleball courts and a discussion of a regulated adult-use cannabis marketplace.
