Hopewell boards weigh bond sale, firefighter hire, zoning variances
No decisions have been published from Hopewell Township meetings held Aug. 5-13; minutes are not yet available. The most consequential item on those agendas was the Township Committee's consideration of a $23.2 million bond sale, along with police promotions and truck purchases. The Zoning Board heard two variance applications, and the Fire District considered hiring a firefighter and awarding an ambulance remount contract.
Township Committee (Aug. 10)

Its agenda included a resolution to sell $23,203,000 in general obligation bonds, comprising $23,100,000 for general improvements and $103,000 for sewer utility bonds. Zoning Board of Adjustment (Aug. 5)
The Zoning Board of Adjustment met electronically via Zoom on Aug. 5. The board was scheduled to hear two applications: Case 26-03 for a use and floor area ratio variance at 328 Carter Road (Princeton Farm House), and Case 26-01 for a use variance to permit a residence in an existing structure at 73 Dublin Road. The agenda also included memorialization of resolutions for Case 25-09 (Arbizu, 3 Drake Lane) and Case 23-14 (130 Washington Crossing Pennington Road).
Fire District No. 1 Board of Fire Commissioners (Aug. 13)
The Fire District No. 1 Board of Fire Commissioners met Aug. 13. The agenda included a resolution to conditionally hire Anthony Gorrin as a Firefighter/EMT at a starting salary of $49,598.13, and a resolution to award a $132,600 contract to Emergency Equipment Sales LLC for an ambulance remount via the Sourcewell cooperative.
