McKinney council to hold budget hearing; TIRZ2 board to vote on airport police/fire funding

The most consequential items on the table are the proposed Fiscal Year 2026-27 tax rate and budget, which the City Council discussed in work sessions and will take up at a future regular meeting.
City Council
The City Council held two work sessions this week. On Aug. 4, members reviewed preliminary planning for the North Civic Campus (NCC) and discussed board and commission member policy and appointment procedures. The agenda also included an executive session on economic development matters involving Venu Holding Corporation and Project Kepler.

McKinney's boards and commissions had a busy two weeks, with the Housing Finance Corporation scheduled to authorize millions in revenue bonds for the Skyway Villas Apartments and the Community Development Corporation set to vote on more than $2.2 million in grants. Skyway Villas Housing Bonds
The McKinney Housing Finance Corporation was scheduled July 24 to consider authorizing issuance of Multifamily Housing Revenue Bonds (Skyway Villas), Series 2026.
