Millville officials weigh $1.15M equipment bond, UEZ grants, and development applications

Millville's City Commission and Planning Board held or scheduled several meetings in the past two weeks focused on infrastructure spending, grant applications, and development reviews. City Commission Work Session — July 17

The Commission held a work session with a bond ordinance to appropriate $1,150,000 and authorize up to $1,150,000 in general obligation bonds for a jet vactor truck and street sweeper. The agenda also included the handicapped parking ordinance for 323 South 3rd Street, an ordinance approving a coin-drop application for Lawrence Township EMS, a resolution authorizing tax and utility adjustments, and a resolution to apply for a New Jersey Department of Transportation grant for the LAIF-2027 Broad Street Reconstruction and Traffic Signal Improvements project. Millville Commissions Seek Over $750,000 in Urban Enterprise Zone Funds; Planning Board Set to Review Redeveloper Applications

Millville's City Commission has scheduled votes on applications for more than $750,000 in Urban Enterprise Zone (UEZ) assistance funds, according to agendas posted for its July 2 and July 7 meetings. Minutes for both meetings have not yet been published, so the items below reflect what was on the agendas, not confirmed outcomes.

City Commission: UEZ Funds, Sign Ordinance, and Police Promotion

The July 2 City Commission agenda included a resolution to apply for $350,000 in UEZ funds for the Millville UEZ Center Business District Improvements Phase 3, and a separate resolution to apply for $152,878 in UEZ funds for the FY2027 administration budget for the Millville Urban Enterprise Zone. Additional UEZ funding resolutions on the agenda covered a clean team and special events, bringing the total sought to over $750,000.
