Modesto housing committee weighed $100,000 Safe Sleeping Program agreement; several advisory boards set rules and priorities
The Citizen's Housing and Community Development Committee met July 9 to consider recommending an agreement with Modesto Gospel Mission for continued operations of a Safe Sleeping Program, with a total amount not to exceed $100,000, to be forwarded to the City Council for approval. The committee also had on its consent agenda approval of minutes from its June 11, 2026 meeting. Minutes for this and all other recent meetings covered here have not yet been published, so outcomes are not yet confirmed.
Housing and Community Development
The July 9 CH&CDC agenda listed the Safe Sleeping Program agreement as its main actionable item. The committee was asked to recommend the agreement and forward it to the City Council for approval. The agenda also included a consent item to approve minutes from the June 11, 2026 meeting.
Community Police Review Board
The Community Police Review Board met July 15 with several items on its agenda: approval of 2026 CPRB priorities and topics; discussion of the first draft of the 2025 Annual Report; the Modesto Police Department's response to the OIR Annual Report covering January 25 through December 25; and an Independent Police Auditor update.
Airport Advisory Committee

Entertainment Commission
The Entertainment Commission met July 16 to vote on a new Business Entertainment Permit for Duran Legacy LLC, operating Legend's Sports Bar and Grill at 2003 Yosemite Blvd. The commission also considered a Special Event Permit for Food Fix Butcher and Baker's BBQ & Brews event on July 25, 2026.
