Mount Pleasant boards weigh rezoning, fire truck bonds, library land transfer
Mount Pleasant city boards met over the past two weeks to consider a range of items, from a new beer permit to a library subdivision plat, but no official decisions have been published yet. The City Commission is scheduled to vote on several major items at its Aug. 18 meeting, including a rezoning and $1.1 million in fire truck bonds.
Beer Board (Aug. 4)
The Beer Board met to review pending license applications and consider a new on-premise beer permit for Casey Boshers, doing business as 166 Bar & Grille at 7601 Enterprise Road. The board also planned to approve minutes from its July 13 regular meeting. No vote results are available because minutes have not been published.
Planning Commission (Aug. 11)
The Planning Commission considered a final subdivision plat for the Maury County Library property at 301 North College Street. The commission also planned to approve minutes from its July 14 meeting. No decisions have been recorded.
Recreation Commission (Aug. 12)
The Parks and Recreation Commission reviewed unfinished business from July, including planning for August and September movie nights, a BBQ festival, and a haunted trail. New business items included a craft day and Breakfast with Santa. The agenda also included a parks report and a city manager's report. No minutes have been published.
City Commission (Aug. 13)
The City Commission held public hearings and final readings on three ordinances, including a rezoning of 1681 North Main Street from low-density residential (R1) to highway commercial (CH). The commission also considered resolutions for a fire truck contract with Bass Berry Sims, a LeadsOnline contract for police software, and acceptance of a TSC sewer line bond.
