Rowlett roundup: Council set to vote on $2.78M road contract; recent meeting minutes still pending
Rowlett City Council has a packed schedule ahead, with a July 21 meeting that includes votes on more than $3.8 million in contracts and purchases. Minutes from the council's five meetings earlier this month have not yet been published, so outcomes from those sessions cannot be confirmed.

The council is scheduled to vote on a contract with DDM Construction Corporation for the Country Aire Estates Phase 2 Reconstruction, not to exceed $2,779,067.50. That meeting also includes a vote on purchasing nine Chevrolet 1500 trucks and one Chevrolet Equinox, not to exceed $445,155.77, and a pavement rehabilitation contract for Chiesa Road from Texas Materials Group, Inc., not to exceed $647,868.12.
Council will also consider using eminent domain for two properties as part of the Chiesa Road Widening Project and a Development Agreement with Trail Creek Partners, Ltd. for 14.87 acres at 13805 Troy Road.
July 20 meeting agenda
The council will interview applicants for an unexpired term on the Rowlett Housing Finance Corporation Board. Members are also scheduled to discuss three ordinances: one establishing electric-vehicle parking and charging requirements for commercial development, one prohibiting public urination and defecation, and a presentation of concept drawings for the Downtown Pavilion, which is funded by a DART grant. An update on the Municipal Complex and Animal Services site selection process is also on the agenda, followed by an executive session to consider the interim city manager appointment.
